Cyclo-ssage

The combination of Cycloidal Massage with Infrared Heat provides the ultimate relaxing experience. It is successfully used for pain management relieving the symptoms of muscle and joint mobility related problems; often providing a viable alternative to prescribed medication. It is also extensively used for Sports Therapy and will provide relief from many common lifestyle conditions such as back pain, stress and fatigue.

What is Cycloidal Massage?

Cycloidal massage (sometimes called cycloid massage) is achieved using a mechanical vibration, known as cycloid vibration. Cycloid vibration has been successfully used for more than 60 years, and is the subject of conclusive medical research studies by universities and teaching hospitals worldwide.

Cycloidal vibration therapy (CVT) is not a new concept, but the Cyclo-ssage Pro Personal Therapy System has made this well-proven therapy more effective and accessible then ever before.

How Does Cycloidal Therapy work?

Cycloidal Vibration produces a multi-directional, non-percussive action, which increases blood and lymphatic circulation by stimulating deep muscle activity. It is a non-invasive action allowing muscles to relax and circulation to be improved without aggravating any skeletal or joint problems.

History of Cycloidal Vibration Therapy

In the coal mines near Niagara Falls in Canada in the 1940s, a young Irish miner noticed how his colleagues would lean against a vibrating coal grading machine to relieve their aching backs. Owen Murphy recognised it was the quality of the vibrations that offered such relief, and in 1949 he patented a therapeutic cycloid vibration device that recreated the beneficial movement on a smaller scale for home and clinical use.

The Science of Cycloidal Vibration Therapy

CVT systems such as the Cyclo-ssage Pro Personal Therapy System produce low amplitude vibrations that create an oscillating pattern, with no percussive (‘hitting’ or ‘kneading’) action like many other mechanical massage systems. This oscillating action stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.Cyclo-ssage massage bed

Far Infrared Therapy

What is Infrared Light?

Infrared light has a longer wavelength than normal, ‘visible’ light, so as humans we need to use instruments to ‘see’ it. (We are all familiar with night vision infrared cameras, which enable us to view the thermal outlines of objects.) Infrared light is an important natural energy source offering benefits similar to sunlight but without the danger of solar radiation (sunburn). It is the infrared spectrum in sunlight that we feel as heat, but it is the UV and UVA light in sunlight that burns our skin.

The benefits of Infrared therapy

Far Infrared Heat Therapy effectively helps to increase blood circulation without putting strain on the heart, and increases the levels of oxygen and white cells in the blood. It also stimulates the production of collagen (a building block for human tissue) in the body and helps to rid the body of toxins. This will result in a stronger immune system, better cardiovascular health, and a faster ability to heal from soft tissue injuries such as tears, pulls and sprains.

Infrared heat therapy is therefore used extensively for chronic pain relief, sports injury recovery, arthritis pain, improving joint mobility and muscle tone.

Beauticians and therapists use infrared heat therapy and infrared lamps to rejuvenate skin and reduce acne and the resulting scarring. Infrared saunas use infrared heaters that allow the human body to directly absorb the heat produced, rather than the heat being transmitted via air or steam, as in traditional saunas.
